Easiest way to get the look? Start with your lips. A matte lip looks super-effective and noticable. Avon has a beautiful range of matte lipsticks that are top of the range in comparison. Another really effective way of getting the matte look right now is matte nails. All you need is a matte top coat on top of your regular nail colour, and that's it! A quick and easy way of getting in on a trend without having the worry of looking for a new nail colour. Just paint it on top of your favourite colour and you're done ;).

Could These Be The Most Nourishing Hair Products on the Market?

Advance Techniques Supreme Oils

The Supreme Oils range caught my eye because my hair is absolutely crying out for some love right now. Last year I had my hair permanently dyed, knowing that it would damage my hair (as dying always does). But I didn't really care at the time - just desperately needed a change! So now I'm stuck with damaged hair, weakened by the dye, prone to breakage, fly-aways and splint ends etc....My hair is as thin as a baby's so it honestly doesn't take much to damage it. I didn't realise this until recently, but a hair dresser told me that tying up your hair while it's still wet causes breakage, because as your hair dries it expands while tied up, which is why it then breaks. So it's no wonder; every morning before work I chuck my hair up in a bun while still wet. Blow drying your hair at 6am? Aint nobody got time for that!

So anyway, I've recently been using Garnier products to repair damage, and I can now say - after using a full bottle of their shampoo and conditioner - that's it's completely useless. I then turned to good old Avon for help, and Supreme Oils doesn't disappoint! 

Avon has gone above and beyond this time, and put not just one or two, but FIVE different nourishing oils in this range! How many hair products can you name that have that many different oils them? None that I've ever heard of.... The Supreme Oils products all contain some amazingly fragrant ingredients. It reminds me of scented candles, or insense. Almond oil, grape seed oil, macadamia oil, marula oil, and camellia oil, all come together to nourish and restore health to dry and damaged hair, leaving you with shiny, soft, and radiant hair that smells fantastic!

   

After only one use of these products (I used the shampoo, conditioner, and the duo treatment spray), my hair was so much silkier and shiny! I could honestly not stop touching and playing with my hair the whole day! I couldn't get over the difference only one use made! I'm impressed. It's way more effective than anything you can get at the supermarket, and way cheaper than anything that your hair dresser will sell to you. Tried This Thing Today...

Avon Luxe Silken Foundation

This weekend I've been pampering my skin and hair with Luxurious products featured in the Luxe edition - Avon brochure 4. This edition is all about just that - pampering yourself with gorgeous products infused with precious ingredients, designed to make you look and feel amazing. We all deserve to pamper ourselves every now and then!

From Avon Luxe range, I've tried out a sample of Silken foundation. It's a liquid foundation, which is infused with silk and white sapphire extract for a gloriously smooth and silky application that glides on effortlessly, and moisturises your skin. Its a 'seamless, soft-focus finish' that has added SPF 20. 

Now for some pics to show you for real... (p.s. I really hate taking selfies!!) : 

Blank canvas: lots of freckles, blemishes, visible pores, acne scars, and sun damage.

After applying Avon Magix Skin Perfector primer and Luxe Silken Foundation in porcelain. 

The completed look: set with mineral powder in ivory, highlighter under the eyes and around the nostrils (not Avon), Ultraluxury Eyeliner in Dark Brown, Supershock Max Mascara - black, and Luxe Couture Creme Lipstick in Nude Slip.

I must say, this is the only liquid foundation I've tried so far that actually blends really well with my skin. I've tried other types from Avon and Mary Kay that usually look too dark or cakey. This shade is a perfect cool shade that matches my colouring perfectly. Went on very smoothly, with buildable, medium-full coverage that doesn't feel cakey. It feels lovely and soft and light. Definitely feels like I've treated my skin to a luxury product. I also tried out a sample of Luxe Couture Creme Lipstick which is infused with silk which gives a brightening, pearlescent look. I love this lippy! I've been on the lookout for a nude lippy that doesn't look too dark or orange, and I've finally found one :D. It's always a great feeling when you find the perfect lipstick ;).

Anew Retroactive Skin Care Range - First Impressions

So I've been using this new skin care range for a week now, and thought I'd share my first impressions with you.

This is the first Anew range that is actually pre anti-aging, which means it prevents the signs of aging as opposed to trying to fix all those lines and wrinkles once they've already appeared. This sounds pretty revolutionary but makes sense; prevention is always better than a cure. So Anew retroactive is targeted at those aged 20+. It claims to be able to target up to 'nine years of micro damage' and reverse it before you get fine lines and wrinkles. Microdamage includes trauma from such things as 'sun exposure, unhealthy habits like smoking and drinking, poor diet, and general lack of skin care' as well as daily exposure from pollution and radiation. 

How does it work? There are two key ingredients in this range which use 'focus repair technology' to increase production of collagen and elastin. Rare Sea Grape from Okinawa, Japan possesses the amazing ability to repair and restore skin integrity; and Micro-algae Dunaliella Salina (found in salt lakes and the Dead Sea) is included for its ability to protect your skin with a 'powerful mix of amino acids and carbohydrates'. The Retroactive set includes cleanser - to be used twice daily, youth extending day cream with SPF 15, youth extending cream (nightly use), and youth extending eye cream (twice daily use). 
The cleanser is one of those products where a little bit goes a long way. You only need a very small amount - about a pea-size - to get a really good lather. So that's value for money in my eyes, because that's a product that you're not going to run out of soon. 
The day cream is very light upon your skin; rich in moisture but not at all greasy or shine-inducing. Glides on easily for good coverage. Again - you don't need much - about 10c piece size. Has SPF in it, which is in it self anti-ageing, and doesn't have the unpleasant odour of some face creams with SPF.
The night cream  performs much the same as the day cream, so again - not greasy, great coverage, no shine, beautifully moisturising, and also smells really fresh (something my hubby complemented me on).
I love the eye cream most of all. Only need a tiny amount for each eye area, patted in gently with your ring-finger. Takes a couple of minutes to fully absorb, but once it does you immediately feel and see the difference. Your eye area illuminates and feels much firmer. If you're going to try any of the products from this line, I recommend this one; after all - the first signs of aging are in your eye area too.

Over all, I'm loving these new products so far. My skin feels firmer, and is already starting to appear more even-toned. I'm seeing redness and sun-damage across my nose and cheek bones starting to fade. Eight weeks of use will be enough time to be able to make the final verdict so I will post my final review then, but going by panelist reviews - the feedback is very positive on this range.

I recommend you try this range if you're starting to see tiny fine lines on your face, or know that your skin has been exposed to microdamage, and want to target these first signs of ageing. 'NO MORE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE'

Jamberry joins the fight against domestic violence

I love it when a company supports a charity on a regular basis. In the case of Jamberry, they support various charities, but are now focusing on one particular cause: domestic violence. You hear about it in the news on a daily basis; it's becoming a bigger problem.

This seems like the ideal time to drop some stats:

• On average at least one woman a week is killed by a partner or former partner in Australia.
  
• One in three Australian women has experienced physical violence since the age of 15.
  
• One in five Australian women has experienced sexual violence.
  
• One in four Australian women has experienced physical or sexual violence by an intimate partner.
  
• One in four Australian women has experienced emotional abuse by a current or former partner.

Those figures are absolutely astounding. It's more than likely that you, a friend or family member has experienced some sort of domestic violence in their life, and it can impact on every single aspect of your life: physical, emotional, psychological, and social. 

 So what do we do about it? One great resource I found after a quick google search is http://www.domesticviolence.com.au which provides great advice for victims and friends and family. Also, the National Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence hotline is available for 24/7 support and information, on 1800 737 732.

Indirectly, if you'd like to support those who are on the front line of this battle, donations are the way to go. Jamberry has a goal to raise $150,000USD toward the FADV (Fight Against Domestic Violence). And the way they are doing that is by selling charity nail wraps, and donating a portion of the sales toward local FADV funds. Why I joined Avon

So I've never done blogging before, but I thought I might actually enjoy it. I was always a journalling/diarising kinda girl so maybe this is a great way of documenting my new Avon journey and sharing what's new with you all :). Not sure if anyone is actually going to be reading this, but hey, I'll enjoy writing it anyway ;). 

Many people will know by now that I've tried my hand at being a *Jamberry Nails Consultant. I basically started that because I fell in love with their products, and thought it might be a fun way of earning some extra money. I'm now basically a 'hobbyist' as my business isn't active anymore, but I'm still madly in love with *Jamberry wraps, and still promote the products.

Avon has become my next venture, and I'm kicking myself that I didn't think of it years ago, to be honest. I've been using Avon products for over 20 years, so I find it easy to promote something from a brand that I use and trust. And who wouldn't trust a company that's been in existence for 130 years?! It just hit me a couple of months ago, that I should be an Avon rep. I use so many of their products, I'm almost a walking advertisement anyway (when I actually have time to do my makeup :P). 

Avon products attract me because they're affordable, they always have great deals, they're very good quality, and I also love the shopping experience - being able to browse the catalog at your own leisure, and have it delivered to your door. I love shopping from home - busy shopping centers can be stressful, and I always find it intimidating walking into boutique stores etc. So I'm quite happy to be able to share my passion for Avon products with others now.

 At the moment, we need the extra income if we're ever going to realise that great Australian dream. And everyone knows that the housing situation in Melbourne is just getting more and more out of control. Our goal just seems to be slipping further and further away. I wanted another job that wouldn't require me to be away from my son, so direct sales is the perfect option for a mum like myself. Anyone who know me, knows that I'm a little on the shy/introverted side, so no doubt this will be a challenge at times. Putting myself out there and approaching strangers is intimidating to me, but so far I've already met some lovely people from my own street that I never would've met otherwise, so that's a positive that I'm really enjoying. I'm really determined to grow my business and be successful at this, so I'm going to give it everything I've got, and try to learn all I can about the Avon business.
